Praise for Jan Bornstein’s Song Trilogy
"Deuces Are Wild is also the hottest offering in The Song Trilogy. In the first two books the love scenes often play out behind doors. With this book, Bornstein takes the reader along for some of the couples most intimate moments. This addition only enhances the fantasy of living and loving like a rock star."

“Reads like a roller coaster ride, leaving the reader breathless and awaiting the next thrill!”
—From a review of Beyond Beautiful, Debra Gaynor, Reader Views
If you are looking for entertaining reading, romance, action, suspense, or for something that you can sink your teeth into Jan Bornstein's writing meets them all. Her multifaceted plot and charismatic characters are as unique and individual as the popular well known rock stars currently competing in the world of music.
As Jan Bornstein continues to develop her gifted writing skills her characters take on a new depth and maturity. I am eagerly awaiting part three of the "Song Trilogy," the promised sequel to Sweet Emotions entitled Deuces are Wild.

“A cautionary tale about stardom; the sacrifices that must be made to attain it, and the public and private consequences of choosing to live one's life in the fish bowl.”

Review of Sweet Emotions by Nikki Pringle for Reader Views (9/08)
Sweet Emotions is the second book of the Song Trilogy by Jan Bornstein. When we catch up with rock stars Scott Tenny and Jenna Bradford, they are still together, and their relationship seems stronger than ever after all of the adversity they had faced in the first novel in the series. The couple is mingling both their personal and professional lives at a rabid pace, and their music, much to the delight of their friends and family, is better than ever. Scott and Jenna seem to be on a roller coaster that is on its way to the top, but as anyone who has ridden a roller coaster knows, there will eventually be a descent, and many more ups, downs, twists, and turns to follow. Such is life. Bornstein writes her characters in an entirely believable manner that allows the reader to really connect with what each is going through. We suffer with them through tragedy, and smile with them during times of joy. The issues in Scott and Jenna’s relationship are the same as those that other real life couples might face, and at times you might find yourself remembering similar highs and lows from your own love life.
Sweet Emotions is a romance novel through and through. Readers who enjoy the genre will not be disappointed by Bornstein’s latest offering. The plot is riveting, there are many great character arcs, the passion is steamy, the arguments are realistic, and the love that these two share is palpable. I am not typically a fan of romance novels, but this book combined the right amount of love story with mystery and intrigue to keep me interested. Grab this book, fill the tub with bubbles, pour a glass of wine, and relax and enjoy the “Sweet Emotions” by Jan Bornstein that fill this novel. Download the PDF of this review.

An Emotional Roller Coaster of Romance, Drama, and Suspense, January 5, 2008
By Richard R. Blake (San Leandro, CA)
"Sweet Emotions" is the second in the "Song Trilogy" and begins where "Beyond Beautiful" left off. Jenna Bradford and Scott Tenna continue to meet the demands of their frenetic careers. Disappointments, jealousy, skeletons from the past, family issues, and career pressures continue to plague Jenna and Scott as they move from one crisis to the next in an explosive environment brought on by deep seated emotional scars and unresolved tensions.
For Jenna balancing family relationships, the demands of her manger, her expectations of Scott, and the limitations and discomfort of pregnancy result in questioning her own self worth which soon becomes become self loathing. Scott's intensity, strong will, and high energy level leaves him confused and uncertain in his attempt to deal with Jenna's outbursts, night mares, and competitive spirit.
Jan captures the essence of the flow of energy from stars on stage to the audience and back to the synergy of the performers. Bornstein shows remarkable insights into the conflicts experienced by those in the rock music industry. She has an incredible understanding of the team effort of musical groups, the tensions, the hours of practice to perfect a song arrangement or producing a unique sound, just prior to a concert. She describes the extremes experienced by the group, from the opulence of the life style to the hardships endured while on tour.
Trained in medicine and psychology Jan demonstrates an amazing understanding of human nature, the impact of anger, abuse, and unresolved conflicts. This plays a significant part in the development of her characters, and in the exciting plot that takes the reader on a breath taking roller coaster ride of suspense right up to the final page.
Whether you're looking for entertaining reading, romance, action, suspense, or for something that you can sink your teeth into Jan Bornstein's writing meets them all with a multifaceted plot and charismatic characters as unique and individual as the popular well known rock stars competing in the world of music today.
As Jan Bornstein continues to develop her gifted writing skills her characters take on a new depth and maturity. I am eagerly awaiting the promised sequel to "Sweet Emotions."

Romance, Intrigue, and Trauma, January 10, 2007
By Richard R. Blake (San Leandro, CA)
First time author, Jan Bornstein takes the reader on a roller coaster ride in this fictional account of life in the fast lane in the music and entertainment industry. Jan has crafted a composite of star quality celebrities in her main characters, rock stars Jenna Bradford and Scott Tenny. "Beyond Beautiful" the first in "The Song Trilogy" details a year in the life of Jenna and Scott.
A well balanced mix of romance and suspense keeps this absorbing plot moving from page one to the final climax, leaving the reader eager for the upcoming sequel. Deceitful relationships, selfish goals, unresolved issues from the past all add to the difficulty Jenna and Scott are faced with in their struggle to build a relationship of love and trust. A police investigation, physical and psychological trauma, and a predatory press add to the insurmountable pressure faced by Jenna and Scott.
Bornstein is able to convey to the reader the beat of the music, and the perfection of the musicians and song writers. She has the ability to reveal a progression of growth from a shallow one dimensional character to caring, sensitive, believable personalities creating an empathy with the reader.
If you enjoy suspense, drama, and romance you will enjoy "Beyond Beautiful."

All Aerosmith Fans Should Read This Book, May 15, 2007
By Michelle P. Cairol (New York)
I totally agree with the other reviewer. Scott the main character is totally Steven Tyler. This book will take you "backstage" into the life of two rock stars. You follow them on a journey as they fall in love and deal with some heavy issues. This book has everything love, music, suspense, sex, romance, and more sex ;) . You will fall in love with the characters in this book! If you love Aerosmith, rock music, or are just a romance novel enthusiast you will love this book. I can't wait to see what will happen next in this trilogy!
Beyond GOOD!!, June 22, 2007
By J. Joyce
This is a must read for anyone who loves Rock and Roll or a great love story.
This was a great summer read. I was so captivated by the story and the characters were so real! This was one of the best books I have picked up in a long time. Looking forward to reading part two to see what happens to these two and the people around them.
It was refreshing to read a book with some Boston/New England roots. Keep at it, Boston can be as fun, sexy and interesting as NY, LA and London.
...waiting for "Sweet Emotion"!!!, June 12, 2007
By Book Diva "Book Diva" (Miami, FL)
Completely and thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the feeling of being "a fly on the wall" and getting a behind the scenes/backstage pass into the personal lives of these characters. I am a shameless romance novel fan and this has it ALL. Anyone who loves rock-n-roll, suspense and ROMANCE should definitely pick this up!!!! Definitely looking forward to Parts 2 and 3!
Beyond Beautiful Review by Cherie Fisher for Reader Views
First time author Jan Bornstein’s book “Beyond Beautiful” is a real winner. This book has it all;
glamour, suspense, drama and fictional stories about the rich and famous. I was immediately drawn
into the story and did not put it down until the end. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for the
characters in the other two books of the trilogy.
Jenna Bradford appears to have born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Daughter of a highly
successful movie executive, Jenna has become famous in her own right as a rock star. Beautiful,
talented and smart, she has it all when mega star rocker Scott Tenny walks into her life. When he
approaches her with interest in pursuing a relationship, Jenna walks away because she does not want
to get involved with someonewho is going through a divorce. Months later, after a failed
relationship and the death of a family member, Jenna meets up with Scott again. She recognizes that
this is something special and starts a relationship with him.
This should be the best time of Jenna and Scott’s life as they fall in love. But an accident that leads
to tragedy causes Jenna to start having reoccurring nightmares that seem very real. As they try to get
to the root of the problem, the story that unfolds is horrific as Jenna isforced to face pure evil. Scott
proves himself over and over again as Jenna tries to reconcile her past and present while living in a
fishbowl as the press pursue her relentlessly.
The author really has an excellent grasp of the human psyche and does a wonderful job of tying
emotions and feelings into the story. If you enjoy a good romance, suspense or stories about the rich
and famous, you will totally enjoy “Beyond Beautiful.” I cannot wait to see what Jan Bornstein
comes up with in the second book of the trilogy “Sweet Emotions.”
